Our story

Jagz first started in Invercargill in 2001 by myself Jane and late husband Garrie, hence the name Jagz.  We wanted to create that home away from home where our guests feel welcome, enjoy great food,and hospitality.

I moved to Christchurch in 2009 to open at Styx Mill and then finally opening Jagz Bar and Restaurant in Kaiapoi in 2014. Still bringing that all important mix of southern hospitality combined with a family feel.

At Sovereign Palms Kaiapoi, we are an iconic establishment directly opposite the golf course. The building itself is very modern, built 2014.  We offer a vibrant atmosphere where you can enjoy a fantastic meal, a pint at the bar, or sit at a leaner or booth surrounding yourself with friendly faces.

We are proud of everything we do, offering quality European gastro style food. Serving classic dishes with an impressive chef quality finish. You can’t beat it!

We have a good range of beers on tap, including draught Heineken and Monteith’s and a great selection of cocktails, wines, and cider as well as non-alcoholic beverages.
